The Rise Of Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez is the talk of the footballing world right now. You would have to go back to 2001 for the last time a player from the Portuguese league got interested in England. That was, of course, a young Christiano Ronaldo who in the years since has lit up the footballing world.

Who is Darwin Nunez & Why Is He Such A Big Deal?

Darwin Nunez is an Uruguayan footballer who is lighting up the footballing world with Benfica. With 33 goals in all competitions, it’s no shock that Nunez is attracting interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.

As we all know Darwin Nunez’s best part of his game is his obvious eye for goals, but he has many other attributes that he has added to his game. Darwin Nunez has great ball control, as shown in the second leg against Liverpool, where he held the ball up amazingly and chipped Alisson for Benfica’s first goal. His general hold-up play for his teammates to roam the pitch was amazing. There’s so much to this young man’s game and with him only being 22 he can learn so much.

The Who, What & Where of Nunez?

As with recent Times when a young player is performing at an elite level all the world’s biggest clubs are ready to splash the cash. You are talking PSG, Manchester United, Liverpool, and, Real Madrid, truly Europe’s elite.

So what club suits Nunez the best? The Tiki-Taka controlled game of Real Madrid, The Gegenpress fast-paced Liverpool. In my opinion with many players set to leave the Reds, Nunez is a perfect option to add to an already blistering Liverpool Attack.

So, in the end, where do I feel like Nunez will end up? In all honesty either Bayern or Liverpool, Bayern is losing Lewandoski to Barcelona and Nunez is that perfect replacement, whereas Liverpool, just wanna bolster their attacking options. As a Reds fan, I will be optimistic and say, Nunez joins Liverpool.

How Much Will Nunes Cost?

With any young talent, they won’t come cheap in today’s market and I’m sure Benfica will ask for a hefty price for Nunez. Rumors of 80 million others of 65 with add-ons. In my opinion, the smartest move would be to tempt Benfica with a 60 million euro offer plus a player you’d be willing to offload, career mode style. In that world and this world, if you pay a big price for a player you’re going to hope they repay you and I feel like Darwin Nunez will in tenfold.

In Conclusion

So Darwin Nunez could be the next Luis Suarez, a young Uruguayan who is ready to tackle Europe’s elite. Where will he be next year? Who knows but whoever lands his signature definitely for their future has one hell of a player on their hands.
