Fringe has made numerous comebacks over the past few decades, and the tassel has once again shimmied its way back into the fashion spotlight. Back in 2013 for their Spring/Summer collections Designers such as Elie Saaab, Versace, Rodarte and Bottega Veneta all featured some variation of the tassel inspired by the 1920’s flapper girl style, also known as the Charleston dress, which was the epitome of rebellion in post war America.
This season fringe is on everything from leather jackets and high heeled shoes to denim shorts inspired by the bohemian look of the hippy era of the late 60’s and early 70’s as shown on Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 2015 runway show, which also sports psychedelic colours and stars and stripes.
