This is the Fashion Inspiration Board I created for a competition to help style a fashion spread with Evens in the October issue of Cosmopolitan. they asked people to submit a style inspiration board to show off our own personal style.
My style would be best described as a Punk Rock Stevie Nicks with a hint of 1940′s/1950′s vintage.
In this board I incorporated things, this includes objects, materials, patterns & women of all shapes, that inspire me in the way I style myself. Haley Williams has been one of my style icons since I was 14 years old so I knew she had to be there, she has a petite frame but that hasn’t stopped me from taking aspects of her style and implementing them into my own. I also included leather and floral, as well as lace and DMs, all things that there is an abundance of in my wardrobe. The images of women I included, I put a plus size and a smaller framed model together to show that no matter your size you can wear the same clothes if styled right, are all wearing things that I have worn, often styled the same way.
I am really gutted that I didn’t win, but I did get down to the last group of people so I’m pretty proud of myself as I hadn’t yet graduated when I entered the competition and wasn’t even taking a fashion based subject as a degree, although I did specialize in fashion photography & constructed narratives while on my Photography course.
But I just have one criticism to the person who styled the fashion spread…..You did my BIGGEST FASHION NO for plus size girls and it has two words….
