Ladies & Gentlemen, Making her way to the ring, hailing from Tampa, Florida…..Jacy Jayne!!!!

First off, I cannot wait to hear Samantha Irvin make this announcement on the Main Roster!

What an exceptional Talent Jacy Jayne is folks. From the very first moment that Jacy entered an NXT ring I became hooked, I felt a connection and was without a doubt, All In, on this star’s future!

So, let’s not waste any more time, how about we dive into the career of Jacy Jayne so far and understand why, ‘The Moment is Mine’.

She’s Taylor Made

Born in 1996, Taylor Grado began her professional Wrestling Journey by training at World Wrestling Academy in Port Rich, Florida. After only 4 Months of training, Grado began to work shows. Taking on the persona of Avery Taylor, She made her full wrestling debut In May 2018 for ACW (American Combat Wrestling) at the age of 22.

Taylor went on to establish herself across several Florida-based promotions including ACW, Shine Wrestling, EVOLVE & Full Impact Pro. Taylor went on to become a three-time Women’s Champion including two women’s title reigns in American Combat Wrestling and a single Women’s title reign in World Xtreme Wrestling.

Fast forward to September 2020 and the WWE Universe & NXT faithful in Florida caught their first glimpse of Avery Taylor as she entered a Number One Contenders battle royal where the winner would challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship, this was ultimately won by Candice LeRae.

Jacy Jayne Arrives

We then had to wait until the July 20th episode of NXT in 2021 to finally see the repackaged Jacy Jayne on live television, where she faced Franky Monet in a losing effort. The singles action for Jacy was not to last too long as she began teaming with Gigi Dolin where the pairing became a firm fan favourite and an extremely formidable team.

It wasn’t an easy start for the duo, as they began with back-to-back televised defeats against Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter, one by pinfall and the other by DQ. This was not the ideal start, however, in the latter, the DQ was caused by the retuning Mandy Rose who debuted a new look and was immediately flanked by Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin to form Toxic Attraction in September 2021 which was the debut episode of NXT 2.0. This attack subsequently led to a 6 women’s tag team match where Mandy, Gigi & Jacy emerged victorious against Kacy, Kaden & Sarray in their official stable debut.

The pairing found their stride immediately and it wasn’t long until they earned the right to challenge the NXT women’s tag team champions Zoey Stark & IO Shirai at the end of September 202. After falling short on NXT TV, Jacy & Gigi were announced as one of the teams in the Scareway to Hell Ladder match at Halloween Havoc in October.

Emerging victorious against the teams of IO Shirai / Zoey Stark and Indi Hartwell / Persia Perotta both Jayne & Dolin won their first championships in the company.

Toxic Attraction continued to run the NXT Women’s division over the coming months and into the early part of 2022, including, a phenomenal WarGames match where Toxic Attraction teamed with Dakota Kai to take on Cora Jade, IO Shirai, Kay Lee Ray & Raquel Gonzalez. Albeit in losing fashion, this was a five-star match by all accounts and is a regular go-to rewatch for me.

In early 2022, the defending champions entered NXT Vengeance Day under serious threat but retained against the challengers Indi Hartwell & Persia Perotta. Jacy & Gigi’s title reign continued through until April’s NXT Stand & Deliver PLE where they fell and lost the titles to Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez, however, the title change was short-lived as only 3 days later on NXT TV, the former champions regained and began a 2nd reign on top of the NXT Women’s Tag Team division.

3 months soon passed and Jacy & Gigi were proving dominant champions on NXT, but they finally met their match when challenged by Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez, losing the titles in July at NXT Great American Bash.

During this time, Jacy & Gigi debuted on Smackdown, entering a Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament. They were forced out due to injury to Dolin. They returned to the main roster, again on smackdown where they were defeated by the team of Aliyah & Raquel Rodriquez, this was the last time we would see the pair on the main roster, at least for now.

For the remainder of the year, the duo continued to challenge at the top of the tag division, falling short on multiple occasions, the cracks were beginning to show between the pair. They managed to put their differences to the side as they later challenged the NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez in a Triple Threat match at NXT Vengeance Day 2023. Both had found themselves in this position after simultaneously eliminating each other at an over-the-top battle royal number one contender match at New Year’s Evil 2023. Roxanne Perez retained her title at the PLE.

Break-Up, Singles Struggles and Re-Invention

On February 7th 2023, Bayley returned to NXT to host an episode of her ‘Ding Dong Hello’ talk show. Jacy Jayne turned on Gigi Dolin, thus beginning the start of a solo heel run which led to several matches between the two. Jacy eventually fell at the rubber match which was held inside a Weaponised Steel Cage Match. This brought the end of a fantastic stable, now synonymous with NXT 2.0. A Stable that I will forever cherish during a time when Professional Wrestling was so much more to me than it ever had.

I think it extremely fair to say that after the feud with former stable partner Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne struggled in singles competition, feeling like a slight afterthought in minor feuds, her only wins coming on NXT LVL up where she bested both Ivy Nile & Karmen Petrovic respectively. Notable defeats on Tuesday nights came against a future NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria & Thea Hail, however, a partnership would blossom soon after Jacy finally got the better of Thea Hail on the August 15th edition of NXT.

Enter Chase U (or Jace U as I like to call it). Jacy Jayne seemingly took Thea Hail under her wing, seemingly joining the Chase U stable in the process. The new team won their first tag match together during an NXT live house show where they got a valuable win over Steve Turner & Jade Gentile shortly following that up with a huge televised win against Lola Vice & Elektra Lopez.

Jacy would then feature again in singles action, picking up wins over Karmen Petrovic on live shows & Izzi Dame which can be found on NXT LVL Up.  It wasn’t long until Jacy & Thea teamed to challenge for the Women’s Tag team titles, however, it was not to be on this occasion. I am certain that their star will rise again and this new tandem will be given the spotlight again.

It will be interesting to see just where Jacy’s time with the Chase U stable ends up, but it certainly seems as if something intriguing is brewing…. Could it be that JACE U becomes a reality? Only time will tell.

Final Note. Since debuting Jacy has truly caught my eye, a wonderful performer and even kinder human being. Her hard work and dedication to the business is clear to see and she is ‘Taylor’ Made for the main roster with singles gold a very real possibility. One thing is for sure, Jacy has gained a fan for life.
