In December of 2023, it was announced that former Ring of Honor and TNA World Champion, Eddie Edwards had re-signed with Total Nonstop Action thus extending his longevity in the company.

Nearing 10 years with TNA/IMPACT Wrestling by January of 2024, Eddie Edwards has become the company’s utility player as he can be able to play any role that the company needs him to play and he knocks it out of the park.

From tag team specialist to single success to feuding with the locker room to feuding with his wife, Eddie Edwards is to some the most underrated wrestler of his generation, but to the TNA/IMPACT fans who’ve watched him over the year he is one of the all time best in the industry…And these are some of Eddie’s greatest moments.

#10. Winning the 1st Call Your Shot Gauntlet

image 50 edited

The inaugural Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory 2019 isn’t exactly the greatest, but it certainly wasn’t boring as a combination of established roster stars and surprise entries made things enjoyable.

Starting off as the first person in the Gauntlet, Eddie Edwards was the match’s iron man as he outlasted the likes of Jordynne Grace, Madman Fulton and Reno Scum who all lasted over ten minutes in the bout.

One of the highlights of this match has to be Fulton’s and Mahabali Shera’s show of dominances as the two big men eliminated folks in a frenzy pace until it came down to them and Eddie Edwards who proceeded to eliminate Fulton before wrestling Shera in a one-on-one match before a Boston Knee to face led to the three count and Edwards becoming the first the CYS Gauntlet Trophy Winner.

While this match may best be remembered for Kylie Rae’s surprise debut in the company, Edwards’ incredible performance and victory in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet shouldn’t be overlooked.

#9. Escaping an Insane Asylum

image 52 edited 1

2018 was a dramatic year for Eddie Edwards as his career nearly came to an end due to injury, but it also gave him the opportunity to act like an insane madman once he returned as Eddie began beating people up with Kendo Sticks and tapping into a more violent side that many fans hadn’t seen from him.

Someone who wasn’t a big fan of Eddie’s new found violence was his real-life wife and fellow pro wrestler, Alisha who after one too many times witnessing her husband go off the deep end, decided to commit him to an insane asylum in Baltimore Maryland called Shady Acres.

During the early stages of his time in the asylum a sedated Edwards would encounter his former friend and now bitter enemy, Moose demeaning him for his alleged insanity. However Eddie’s time in Shady Acres would be short lived when former NWA World Champion Raven gave Edwards some words of wisdom before giving him a key card to escape the facility.

By the next episode of IMPACT! Moose would get attacked by Eddie (who is wearing flip flops and his hospital gown) before getting wacked by a kendo stick and Eddie’s sandles thus closing the show out in over the top fashion.

A satisfying payoff to this a whole segment…Just a shame that company never followed up on what the favor was the Eddie owed Raven.

#8. Mr and Mrs. AIP win at Slam 2017

image 51

Alisha Edwards has been a part of the IMPACT Wrestling roster since 2017 and while her in-ring work has mostly seen her act like a jobber to other wrestlers, she has also be a part of some of the most funniest and exciting moments in recent company history…some of which includes her husband.

Whether there bonding together or getting at each other throats, the duo of Eddie and Alisha never fail to make an impression even when there getting beaten up.

On the Feburary 9th 2017 edition of IMPACT! Eddie Edwards was taking on Bobby Lashley for the World Heavyweight Championship when his long time tag team partner, Davey Richards turned on him and costed him the match leading to Davey and his then significant other, Angelina Love to attack Mr. and Mrs. Anything Is Possible and ending the show in a shocking betrayal.

This feud between the couples culminated in a Mixed Tag Team Full Metal Mayhem Match at Slammiversary 2017 with the action and emotions running high as Alisha and Eddie use trash can lids, garbage cans and kendo sticks together and even powerbombed their foes throught tables leading to Eddie securing the win for his team.

#7. Avenging Kenny

image 53

Outside of Davey Richards and wife Alisha, perhaps the most well known ‘relationship’ Eddie Edwards has had during his TNA/IMPACT tenure is Kenny…No not Omega or King, but Kenny The Kendo Stick.

Used as Eddie’s signature weapon from 2018 onwards, Kenny and his female counterpart Kendra have been used cause tremendous amount of pain at the behest of the Edward’s family….So you can imagine how well Eddie was when someone destoryed his friend right in front of him.

During his brief feud with Killer/Karrion Kross in 2019, Eddie had to bare witness to his beloved Kenny getting snapped in half all while a maniacal Kross laughs in pure joy. This resulted in Edwards wanting payback and much like what he did with Davey in 2017, Kross would face Edwards at Slammiversary 2019 in a First Blood Match.

A competitive match from to bottom, but the finish to match was great; grabbing a previously used Kenny the Kendo Stick, Eddie looks to have Kross beat when Mr. AIP does his best HBK at Wrestlemania 24 impression by telling Kenny “I’m Sorry, I Love You” before snapping the stick in half and stabbing Kross in the mouth causing him to bleed and for Edwards to come out on top with another impressive victory while also getting revenge for his friend.

#6. Beating Up Ace Austin

image 54

Okay this moment is more centered around Alisha than Eddie, but he does play a cruicial role in what happens and he gets make love with wife afterwards.

In 2019…bloody hell, the latter half of the decade was a busy and brutal time for one half of the Wolves, Ace Austin who was going through a storyline phrase that saw him wanting to get super intimate with porn stars, the mothers of his fellow co workers and even their wives…Step right up Alisha, who became the eye of Ace’s lusting desires.

Eddie not looking be cuckold by the company’s newest high flyer, went on to have series of run-ins and matches with Ace that all lead to Eddie looking worse in the eyes of his wife and further into the arms of the card wielding cruiserweight.

Eventually Alisha gets word on what Ace intents to do with her and decides to set a trap for him; On the November 5th 2019 episode of IMPACT! Ace Austin heads to a hotel room at the request of Alisha and it looks like like the ‘One True Ace’ is going to score with Mrs. AIP.

Suddenly an unexpected third member introduces himself and batters the crap of Austin in the form of Eddie Edwards and then Alisha joins in by whaling Ace in the back with Kenny and even stomping on Ace’s downstairs arena in the middle of hotel hallway.

After Austin leaves with both a bruised back and blue balls, both Eddie and Alisha decide to do some love making before Eddie attempts to get Kenny involved in some sort of weird threesome.

#5. Joining Honor No More

image 57

For the entirety of Eddie’s time in the company his always been the good guy; A standard white meat babyface who could be relied on to have a soild wrestling match and even when he turned Kendo stick crazy in the late 2010’s he was technically still a babyface as the fans could understand his violent outburst.

All of that would change once a group of Ring of Honor stars invaded IMPACT Wrestling in early 2022 and declared war on the locker room leading to a high profiled 10 man tag team match at that year’s No Surrender event with Honor No More’s (Vincent, Kenny King, PCO and The Kingdom) taking on Team Impact (Rhino, Chris Sabin, Rich Swann, Willie Mack and Steve Maclin).

The match was a back-and-forth affair with the final moments seeing Eddie run in with a kendo stick and grabbing Maria Kanellis-Bennett by the hair. Rhino look poised to hit Maria with the Gore before Edwards struck Rhino with the sitck leading to Honor No More securing the victory and in the process Edwards finally turned heel.

Eddie would later reveal himself to be the leader of Honor No More which lasted all the way until group disband by the end of the year; For a man spent part of his time in the company being betrayed by friends and tag partners, it’s refreshing to see Eddie being the one to turn to the dark side.

#4. Defeating Team 3D and The Hardys

image 55

Speaking of tag partners, Eddie Edwards’ partnership with Davey Richards as part of The Wolves has seen the duo wrestling in numerous places like ROH, WWE and TNA while also becoming multiple time tag team champions in various promotions.

In the mid 2010’s the Wolves were hottest thing in tag team wrestling not named the Young Bucks or signed to a WWE contract and their rivalries with teams like The Dirty Heels, Decay and The BroMans were some of the best bit of tag team wrestling that sadly has been overlooked due to more people focusing more on the company’s behind-the-scenes problems then the wrestling inside the ring.

One feud that the Wolves did have at the time that’s still remembered fondly was their series of matches with The Hardy Boyz and Team 3D. In a tag team series between all three teams, The Wolves decided to make the final match a Full Metal Mayhem Match which was scheduled for the October 8th 2014 edition of IMPACT!

As far as Full Metal Mayhem matches go this is one of the all time best with the amount tables the wrestlers go through and the action itself is simply wonderful with Edwards taking memorable bumps including an Electric Chair combined with a Superplex and being hip toss straight off the ladder all the way to the ring.

The finish came when Eddie powerbombed Matt Hardy through a table inside the ring thus allowing Davey to grab the titles and in the process retain the belts in what many call TNA’s best match of 2014.

#3. The Outside Brawl with Sami Callihan

Eddie and Sami Brawl

One of biggest rivals Eddie had during his singles run was Sami Callihan with their feud starting all the way back in early 2018 when Sami set up a steel chair over Eddie’s head before grabbing a baseball bat and completely missing the chair and nailing Edwards flush in the face with bat.

It was a moment that was scary and horrific in equal measure due in no small part in the fact that it wasn’t suppose to happen and that Eddie’s injuries (which included a broken Orbital Bone and broken nose) could’ve lead to lawsuit for the company especially if things had gotten worse.

Thankfully Eddie recovered and was soon out for revenge against Callihan with the two repeatedly hurting each other while still leaving enough room for matches and moments to come. One of the most memorable in their feud (outside of the whole bat incident) has to be their brawl on the June 7th 2018 edition of IMPACT!

After heading into the woods to find Callihan, Eddie quickly dispatches Sami’s running buddies in oVe, before finally getting his hands on the man who nearly ended his career. Armed with sticks, a baseball bat and everything else around them the two men plummeled each other with Eddie looking as if he was going to finally put away Callihan when Alisha and friend, Tommy Dreamer came in and stopped Edwards from killing Sami.

Eddie, fuel by emotion and rage assaulted Dreamer for his meddling after Sami escaped with the feud allowing to go on for another day.

#2. Beating Sami in Barbed Wire Massacre

image 3

Despite the animosity between Edwards and Callihan lingered on for many years, the two were just never given a big end all match to put the feud to rest..well at least in not in 2018 or 2019 or 2020, in fact the time the did have one it was right in the middle of the global pandemic where fans were in attendance.

That’s right both men would finally be able to settle score in a big fight at 2021’s Hard To Kill PPV in a Barbed Wire Massacre match where everything from the weapons and the ring ropes were covered in the sharp razor wire.

As you can imagine, both men didn’t hold anything back as the destoryed one another to get the upper hand with Sami even using N64 controller wrapped in barbed wire as an actual weapon at one point in the match…points for creativity.

In an almost recreation of the bat incident, Sami attempts to use the barbed wire baseball on Eddie with a barbed wire chair on top of him, when a swift kick into downstairs area gives Edwards the chance to hit the Boston Knee Party, but sadly doesn’t put Sami.

It’s not until an Emerald Flowsion by Eddie on Sami through some barbed wire wreckage that allows Mr. AIP to finally defeat his long time rival in a one-on-one; While they would continue to fight on and off and even partnered at some point, many fans look at this match at HTK as the real end to their rivalry.

#1. Eddie Wins the World Title

image 69

When injuries saw Davey Richards taken out of action, Eddie Edwards was all on his own for the first time since the Wolves became a team. This didn’t stop Mr. AIP one bit as he became a multiple time X Division Champion in 2016, but his biggest win as a single star would come at the end of the year.

In the main event of the October 6th 2016 edition of the IMPACT! Edwards nailed Bobby Lashley with a Boston Knee Party straight out of nowhere to become the new TNA World Champion in a massive upset that shocked everyone.

His first reign saw Eddie defending the belt against the likes of Lashley, Cody Rhodes, Eli Drake/LA Knight and EC3 before dropping back to Lashley in an Iron Man Match at Genesis 2017 with reign only lasting 97 days.

EdTStkgXsAEtz6A

It would be until four years later when Eddie once again became the world champion he won a five way elimination match in the main event of Slammiversary 2020 and when you consider the real life craziness that led to this match, it’s safe to say Eddie Edwards more than deserved to become the new champion.

His second reign would only last 28 days but despite it’s short lenght, Edwards made up for it with amazing title defense against RVD, Trey Miguel, Sami Callihan and a returning Brian Myers.

Eddie would go on to lost the title in the main event of the September 1st 2020 edition of the IMPACT! to Eric Young; While his neither of his two reigns made it pass the 100 day mark, the matches he did have during those reigns so just how much Eddie Edwards could do in such a small window of time.
