AEW Dynamite this week was a good solid show. there were some great matches as always, with the opener being one of the best of the night. Feuds seem to be heating up as we head into Double or Nothing season and the women of AEW received more screen time. As with any show, there were ups and downs, and at big as the highs were the lows were very low. Some moments in the show felt slow or uninteresting, but that happens when the action is often so fast-paced. So how good was AEW Dynamite this week? I’d say pretty good in my opinion.

FTR: Another Match of the Year
Yes, it’s true, the best tag team in the business faced off against one another inside an AEW Dynamite ring for a chance to compete in the Owen Heart Tournament. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have never faced off against each other in their careers and in their first bout, they showed they understand singles wrestling as much as being tag team, ring generals. The two men came to the ring together, they wore matching gear inspired by The Hart Foundation and showed how well they know each other by countering each other time and time again. The match also included callbacks to some of Bret and Owen’s best matches, especially their bout at WrestleMania 10.
On The Road To Double Or Nothing
CM Punk Vs Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Championship is set for this year’s Double or Nothing. After the FTR singles match, Punk comes to the ring, he had been on commentary, congratulating the team on their fantastic match. Now it’s time for business and that is CM Punk and his quest for championship gold.
Good Feuds, Bad Feuds
Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb’s rivalry feels like it has gone on forever, unfortunately with that, as great as it is to see more women on AEW Dynamite, it is starting to feel a bit tired now. Thunder Rosa is looking for a new opponent for her AEW Women’s World Championship and she might have just set her sights on Deeb. Let’s run that rivalry back, after the two-faced off for ‘The Burke’, The NWA Women’s World Championship. Hopefully, this will mean the two women will be distanced from one another moving forward.
On the other hand, the feud between Death Triangle and The House Of Black is heating up and is still interesting. there have been so many layers to this story and now that Rey Fenix is back and looking better than ever, maybe we can get that long-awaited match, maybe in a steel cage? And if the rumors of a Trios Championship are true, could these two factions be the first to fight for them.
Main Event Magic
After a scary-looking bump at the start of the match, goddamn it Sammy Guevara, the match picked up in its closing moments. The introduction of the barbed wire ladder was a cool and inventive new take on the ladder match stipulation, allowing for more breathing room as Scorpio Sky and Guevara threw each other into it. Tay Conti and Paige VanZant both got heavily involved during this match, which was lots of fun. This feud has been going on for some time and I’m sure it will conclude soon, still patiently waiting to see Tay Conti and Paige VanZant go at it but it’s going to happen. Isn’t it, Tony….TONY!
