The AEW All Atlantic Championship: So What’s The Deal With It?

AEW has recently added the All Atlantic Championship to their array of titles, and we finally have some confirmation about how the championship will be defended. AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan appeared on the “My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox” podcast, which can be found on Youtube. He explained how the All Atlantic Championship will be defended and what is in store for the inaugural champion PAC.

“We have a great All Atlantic Champion in PAC and the way he’s defending the title now, it’s going to be a little different than the way some of our other champions have,”

“PAC is defending title around the world. He’s a fighting champion. We have a lot of fighting champions in AEW who are fighting on Dynamite, Rampage every week, and also on Pay-Per-View. PAC won that title on Pay-Per-View at Forbidden Door, but we’ll see if he comes back to America as the All-Atlantic Champion because he’s scheduling defenses oversees that I signed off on and really encouraged.”

So What’s Next For The All Atlantic Championship?

PAC became the AEW All Atlantic Champion at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door show at the end of June. He defeated Miro, Clark Conners, and Malaki Black in a four-way match. Connors was a last-minute replacement for an injured Tomohiro Ishii but proved his worth against some of the biggest stars in the business.

Since winning his championship he has defended his championship once with what looks like more on the way all around the world. This is a great way to bring AEW to all the fans around the world while also spreading their message of Pro-Wrestling to new fans. His first defense took place this weekend at a RevPro show, against the future ACE of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Jon Moxley’s adopted son, Shota Umino.

Fun Fact: Shota Umino is actually the son of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s head referee and Bullet Club arch nemesis Red Shoes Unno.
