So it’s that time again, Fantasy Premier League rears its head again as players from all over the world hope to be number one in their respective countries or leagues. Here at Lace ‘Em Up, we like to join in on the fun as well so who’s on our team for the 2022/23 season? Let’s talk it through.
Picking The Right Goalkeeper Is A Must

Aaron Ramsdale is our starting Goalkeeper [GK] with his amazing performances for Arsenal last season and being the cheapest of the Keepers from the top six clubs it was a no-brainer. Danny Ward is the backup keeper a usual move from any FPL player is to pick a cheap backup keeper so you can spend the rest of your money on defense, midfield, and especially in attack. That’s why I picked Danny Ward, he is a keeper who might not get much game time but if called upon will do the job.
Next Pick A Strong Line Of Defenders

The Four Defenders I have picked are Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk, Spurs new signing Ivan Persisic, Aston Villa’s new acquisition Diego Carlos and Newcastle’s new defender Sven Botman. What a lineup that is, right?
Let’s talk about Virgil first, the Dutch Colossus who has been an amazing addition to any FPL team since his arrival at Liverpool in 2017. The Dutchman is the most expensive of our defense but he is definitely worth it with amazing stats most weekends.
Another Dutchman who is hoping he will land a statement in the premier league is Sven Botman who after an exceptional time at Lille has switched sides to Tyneside to join Newcastle. An upgrade on who Newcastle currently had in the position and also fairly cheap, Botman could be an exceptional pickup.
The last two defenders we will talk about are Ivan Perisic and Diego Carlos. Perisic surprised people when he was put in the defenders’ portion of FPL after usually playing on the wing for Milan. The Croatian is an exceptional player and could rack up serious points for FPL players who pick him in their team.
Diego Carlos is another defender with years of experience who hopes he can bring that experience and elevate an Aston Villa defense. This aspect of the team has gotten some fair criticism over the last few seasons and especially last season. Carlos is a serious winner and he hopes this will translate over to his teammates and a successful season for him and Villa.
Pick Yourself Three Solid Midfielders

We have a midfield three in this 4-3-3 formation, two proven stars, and a new kid on the block. They are Leeds’s new signing Luis Sinistera, Arsenal wonderkid Bukayo Saka, and Liverpool megastar Mohammed Salah.
We will start off with the Egyptian King, Mo Salah, who has been an exceptional player ever since he returned to the Premier League. Salah is one of Liverpool’s key players and a top scorer shout that needs to be on your fantasy team. One of the most expensive players on our team but he is worth every penny and is a must-have for most Fantasy Premier League players.
Bukayo Saka is the next midfielder who has had an amazing last few seasons for Arsenal, especially last season when he broke through. In my opinion, he should’ve won Young Player of the Year. A new must-have in most FPL teams if Saka contributes the same way he did last year Bukayo could be an absolutely amazing pick-up for any Fantasy Premier League player.
Let’s talk about the new kid on the block Luis Sinisterra. After a successful season with Feyenoord, he joined Leeds in a club-record move for Feyenoord. If he lives up to the potential that has been put on his head then Luis could be like his namesake and become an amazing player in the prem.
Finally, Pick Your Fantasy Premier League Starting Forwards

Our forwards include Manchester City’s new boy Erling Haaland, Liverpool marksman Darwin Nunez, and Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus.
Erling Haaland is a hell of a player and one of the best in the world at the minute. Securing him in the team was a must an absolutely essential part of the team and the main point getter for this team In my opinion. Haaland will be absolutely fantastic for City this season.
Darwin Nunez has joined Liverpool for a record transfer fee. If he replicates his form at Benfica at Liverpool then we could have a very juicy forward line for this season. Nunez and Salah could contribute massively.
Gabriel Jesus is our final forward, a premier league proven striker who is on form already during pre-season. Gabriel Jesus could link up with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Smith Rowe to contribute amazing points for our team and help Arsenal push for the Champions League this season.
