AEW Collision: Saturday Night Is Alright For Fighting
AEW Collision is finally here and let’s see how it stacks up to Dynamite and Rampage. Collision is coming from the United Centre in Chicago. The opening video and music doesn’t pack the same punch as the other shows and as much as I love Elton John, it doesn’t work with the visuals. It’s like having a sensory overload. Ok now let’s get to the show.
AEW Collision Comes To Chicago
CM Punk comes out with huge cheers, which isn’t surprising since we are in Chicago, and his promo is something. He is smug and does make some very unneeded digs at the Young Bucks and other wrestlers, calling them soft. It’s petty and childish, that’s my opinion on it, and you can’t be the ‘bigger man’ as you claim if you make digs and don’t think you need to apologise for your part in something.

The first match of the night is Luchasaurus accompanied by Christan Cage facing off against WARDLOW for the TNT World Championship. This match is good and hard-hitting with both men bringing everything to one another. After some sneaky tactics from Christian Cage, Luchasaurus wins the TNT Championship. What a wild time to be a wrestling fan.

Andrade El Idolo is back after a long time off and is facing Buddy Matthews of the House of Black. This match is out of this world with both men doing everything they can to win. There is a movement, and we will probably get more clarity on it at a later date, but the match is momentarily stopped with Andrade holding his arm and Buddy limping. Both men have had huge injuries in the last few years and they both play on that throughout the last half of the match. Kevin Kelly and Nigal McGinuess are on fire during this match and are such a great commentary team.
Andrade wins with a figure eight leg lock, a nice shoutout to his wife Charlotte Flair, and he tries to help Buddy and offers a handshake but soon the light goes out. We all know that isn’t a good thing. The House of Black is here and Brody King attacks Andrade, setting the stage for a possible House of Black/La Faccion Ingobernable feud.

Tony Nese is such a shithouse heel, he insults the crowd and how fat they are, funilly enough the crowd kind of gets behind it and joins in with the group workout. Well until Miro’s music hits. This is his first night back in a long time and he looks great, sucks for Nese as he is kinda being just fed to him. I wish Nese was allowed to show off what he can really do in the ring.

Now we have The Outcasts, Ruby Riott and AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm, facing off against NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue. Blue is in her hometown of Chicago and is getting a great showing tonight. This match starts off fast and hard with The Outcasts attacking their opponents before the bell sounds. Nightingale is brutalised by them but soon enough that hot tag happens and the crowd go wild for their hometown girl. Skye Blue picks up the win for her team.
AEW Collision Main Event: Jay White, Juice Robinson & Samoa Joe Vs FTR & CM Punk

Tonight in our main event we have Bullet Club Gold teaming with the ROH Television Champion Samoa Joe going against a returning CM Punk and the AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR. Jay White and Dax Harwood are incredible in the ring together, both chopping one another hard. Soon enough Juice Robinson is in the ring and facing Dax, eventually, we get Cash Wheeler in the ring, who is fighting off Bullet Club Gold. Samoa Joe is still on the outside but gives a warning to Wheeler.
CM Punk gets in the ring and tries to get rid of Juice but that doesn’t happen, but Samoa Joe wants Punk and he is hitting him very very hard tonight. Punk’s chops are no match for Joe’s who is bringing everything to this main event. Dax is tagged back in and they have a chop-off, there is something about the way Joe wrestlers that make everything look brutal and sound horrendously painful. Joe, White and Robinson work really well together as a trio, cutting the ring in half and destroying anyone they can get their hands on.
Despite this being Punk’s comeback match he is the weakest link in this match, his opponents do make him look good here and FTR does most of the heavy lifting. CM Punk picks up the win here by pinning Juice Robinson. I know this is his show and his moment but I am sick of seeing Bullet Club Gold be pinned. They deserve better.
Storyline Beats & Championship Dreams

Both Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks have declared themselves for this year’s Owen Hart Tournament. Who else will we get to see compete for that illustrious accolade?
The Acclaimed Have Arrived, Scissor Me Daddy Ass. Billy Gunn is having the time of his life with The Acclaimed, they are looking at the trios’ titles to add to their collection. That would be a fun thing to do.
