#4. The Hand Of God

Seth Rollins continued his messianistic gimmick from early 2020 into the lockdown era where he was one of the first challenges to Drew McIntyre.
Rollins lost to Kevin Owens at WrestleMania but was nonetheless one of the first PPV challengers to Drew McIntyre’s crown when looking to grab the title belt at Money In The Bank, the build up of which saw a number of Rollins attacks on Drew. In a good but quite forgettable encounter, the Scotsman retained his strap against one of the Raw brand’s biggest heels.
After the match, a rather bizarre moment saw Drew offer a hand to “The Messiah” before Rollins accepted, shaking the hand. Why? Who knows. Now, this may be long-term storytelling and come back at a later date but in the Vince McMahon-approved, uncertain lockdown era WWE, I would find this very hard to believe.
Whilst this may have hinted at a face turn for the curb stomp performer, in the aftermath, Seth continued his allegiance with Buddy Murphy, with his next major feud seeing him brutalise Dominik Mysterio with a kendo stick and try to pierce Rey Mysterio’s eyeball so I guess he is not turning face…?
Utterly confusing, utterly unassiduous, utterly unfollowed through on.
