#2. A Gang Of Ninjas

In the midst of the Viking Raiders/Street Profits rivalry, Akira Tozawa reinvented himself as a ninja, alongside a gang of motorbike ninjas. He is, after all, Japanese.

This is a further illustration of the empty arena wackiness the WWE could test without an audience, with the idea likely flopping big time in front of a live audience but relatively harmless for an exclusively televised crowd.

The team were handily beaten by both The Raiders and Profits, with all members except Tozawa masked in order to preserve their identity as they were likely Performance Center trainees. In the classic obvious masked wrestler trope (maybe, it is hard to tell), the WWE enlisted Jordan Omogbehin as a large, black, seven-footer thinnly veiled in the ninja attire. Big Show helped fight off the ninja threat, somehow making his second WWE appearance that year and third change of crowd alignment.

The ninjas largely hung around the 24/7 title scene under leader Tozawa but did memorably get their arses handed to them by Shayna Baszler which made “The Queen Of Spades” look like an awesome competitor.

In hindsight, the faction has probably gained more popularity due to the increased profile of the giant ninja as Omos.
